About the IQ 400
The Omni-ID IQ 400 is an ultrathin UHF RFID label designed to be read on metal surfaces. It comes on rolls and is optimised for thermal barcode printers, so the label can be printed and encoded like a normal barcode label instead of fixing a bulky hard tag. Omni-ID lists IT, office and hospital asset tracking among its main uses.
Ordinary RFID labels lose performance on metal. The IQ 400 is built to work on metal, and Omni-ID also describes it for items involving liquids, such as logistics with metal products or packaging. It is a narrow, low-profile label with an IP68 rating, which suits IT equipment, medical equipment, tools and pipes where a larger tag would not fit.

Can the IQ 400 be stuck directly on metal?
Yes. It is designed as an on-metal RFID label, so it can be read when applied to metal assets, unlike standard RFID labels.
Can I print and encode IQ 400 labels on my own printer?
Omni-ID designed the IQ 400 for thermal barcode printers. To print and encode the RFID chip in one pass you need an RFID-enabled thermal printer. Tell us your printer model and we will check it.
