Panel PC
An industrial panel PC is a computer built into a touchscreen display, designed to be mounted in a machine, control cabinet or wall on the shop floor. It is used to run HMI, SCADA, production tracking and barcode or RFID applications where a desktop PC would not survive dust, moisture and vibration.
A' Niche Solutions supplies Portwell industrial panel PCs, including a 15.6 inch capacitive touchscreen model with an IP65 front panel that supports panel and VESA mounting. We support the hardware and integrate the applications it runs with SAP HANA, Oracle and custom ERP systems.

Ingress protection
Check the IP rating of the front panel. IP65 protects against dust and water jets, which suits washdown areas and dusty production lines. The rear of the unit is usually protected by the enclosure it sits in.
Touchscreen type
Capacitive screens are sharp and responsive with bare fingers. Resistive screens work with gloves or a stylus. Match the touch technology to how operators on your line will use the panel.
Mounting and size
Confirm whether the PC will be panel-mounted into a cut-out or fixed on a VESA arm or stand. Choose a screen size that operators can read comfortably from their working position.
Power and interfaces
Industrial sites often supply 12V or 24V DC. Check the power input and make sure the unit has the USB, serial and Ethernet ports needed for scanners, printers and PLCs.
What is the difference between an industrial panel PC and a normal PC?
An industrial panel PC combines the computer and touchscreen in one sealed unit that mounts directly on a machine or cabinet. It is built to handle dust, water spray, shock and vibration. It usually runs on DC power. A standard office PC and monitor are not designed for these conditions.
What does IP65 mean on a panel PC?
IP65 means the rated surface is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. On a panel PC the rating normally applies to the front panel, so the unit should be mounted in an enclosure that protects the rear.
Can a panel PC run barcode and ERP applications?
Yes. A panel PC runs standard operating systems and can connect to barcode scanners and label printers. A' Niche Solutions integrates barcode and RFID applications with SAP HANA, Oracle and custom ERP systems.
