RFID Printers
An RFID printer is a label printer with a built-in RFID encoder that writes data to the RFID chip inside a smart label while printing the barcode and text on its surface. It is used for RFID-based inventory, asset tracking, retail and logistics labelling.
A' Niche Solutions supplies Zebra UHF RFID printer encoders, including the ZT411 industrial model and the ZD621R desktop model. We also supply RFID tags, labels and ribbons and integrate RFID tagging with SAP HANA, Oracle and custom ERP systems.

Volume and form factor
A desktop RFID printer suits low to medium volumes and limited space. An industrial RFID printer handles high daily volumes, larger media rolls and continuous use in warehouses and production.
RFID frequency
Most supply chain and asset tracking uses UHF RFID for its longer read range. Confirm the printer encodes the frequency and tag standard that your readers and labels use.
Label and inlay compatibility
The encoder must be calibrated to the position of the RFID inlay in your label. Test your chosen labels on the printer, especially for small labels or tags meant for metal surfaces.
Print method and resolution
Like barcode printers, RFID printers can print direct thermal or thermal transfer. Choose thermal transfer and a suitable resolution for durable labels with small text or 2D codes.
What is the difference between a barcode printer and an RFID printer?
A barcode printer only prints on the label surface. An RFID printer also encodes data into the RFID chip embedded in the label and can verify that the chip was written correctly, so each label carries both a readable barcode and an RFID tag.
Can an RFID printer print normal barcode labels?
Yes. An RFID printer can print standard barcode labels without RFID inlays, so the same printer can be used for both RFID and non-RFID labelling. This is useful when only some products or assets need RFID tags.
Do you supply RFID tags?
Yes. A' Niche Solutions supplies RFID tags along with labels, ribbons and other consumables. The right tag depends on the item surface, such as metal or plastic, as well as on the read range your application needs.
