About the TSC 2240LR
The TSC PEX-2240L and PEX-2240R are 4-inch, 203 dpi print engines from TSC's PEX-2000 Series, made to be mounted in label applicators and print and apply systems. The L and R models are the left-hand and right-hand versions, so the engine can be fitted to suit the direction of the line. They print by direct thermal or thermal transfer at up to 18 ips and suit manufacturing, warehouse, pallet and carton labelling.
TSC designed the series for easy integration: it supports DB15 and DB25 GPIO interfaces with emulations of major printer brands, and its TSPL-EZD firmware is compatible with EPL, ZPL, ZPL II and DPL, so existing label formats can stay the same. It prints labels as short as 5 mm with a printing deviation within ±0.4 mm. The PEX-2340 and PEX-2640 are the 300 dpi and 600 dpi models, and the Zebra ZE511 on our site is another 4-inch engine.

What do L and R mean in PEX-2240L and PEX-2240R?
They are the left-hand and right-hand versions of the same 4-inch, 203 dpi print engine. The right choice depends on which side of the applicator the label comes out and the direction of the line.
Can the PEX-2240 replace the print engine in our existing applicator?
TSC designed it for simple integration into new and existing label applicator installations. It has a DB15 GPIO interface as standard, DB25 as a factory option, GPIO emulations of major printer brands and firmware compatible with ZPL, EPL and DPL. Share your applicator model and we will check the fit.
Can the PEX-2240 print RFID labels?
Yes, with the optional UHF RFID module for RAIN UHF passive tags (GS1 EPC Gen2 v2 and ISO 18000-63). The minimum label or tag pitch is 15.9 mm, and RFID tags up to 1.2 mm thick are supported.
How small a label can it print?
In small label mode it handles labels from 5 mm to 12.7 mm long in peel-off mode, with a printing deviation within ±0.4 mm. Standard mode covers labels from 12.7 mm to 152 mm.
Do you supply ribbons and labels and service print engines?
Yes. We supply paper, polyester and direct thermal labels and wax, wax-resin and resin ribbons, and offer repair, printhead and platen roller replacement and AMC with PAN India support.
