About the TSC Alpha 30RB
The TSC Alpha-30R is a compact 3-inch mobile printer for receipts and labels, printing by direct thermal at 203 dpi up to 72 mm wide. It weighs 650 g with the battery and clips to a belt or strap. It suits retail staff printing shelf and markdown labels, delivery staff issuing receipts and invoices, and anyone doing mobile billing or ticketing away from a counter.
TSC offers the Alpha-30R in two versions: a Basic version that prints up to 5 ips and a Premium version that prints up to 6 ips and adds docking cradle and vehicle mount support. It is IP54 rated and tested for 2.1 m drops. Compared with the Alpha-30L on our site, it is lighter and smaller, takes a 57 mm roll instead of 67 mm and handles a narrower range of label types.

What is the difference between the Alpha-30R and the Alpha-30L?
Both are 3-inch direct thermal mobile printers. The Alpha-30R is lighter at 650 g and takes a 57 mm roll, and is aimed at receipts and simple labels. The Alpha-30L takes a 67 mm roll, has a colour display and handles more label types, including die cut and fan-fold labels.
What is the difference between the Basic and Premium versions?
The Basic version prints up to 5 ips and the Premium version up to 6 ips. The Premium version also has a transmissive sensor and supports the docking cradles and vehicle mount accessories.
Will the Alpha-30R work with our billing app on Android or iOS?
It connects to Android and iOS devices over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and TSC provides SDKs for Windows, Android and iOS along with OPOS drivers for ESC/POS printing. It can also run TSPL-EZC firmware, which accepts EPL2, ZPL2 and CPCL label commands.
Can the Alpha-30R print labels as well as receipts?
Yes. It prints on receipt paper, receipt paper with black mark, labels and linerless media. The minimum label length is 25.4 mm. It is direct thermal, so no ribbon is needed.
Can you supply rolls and service the printer?
Yes. We supply direct thermal labels for the Alpha-30R, and we provide setup with your software, AMC and repair including printhead and platen roller replacement, with PAN India support.
