About the TSC Alpha 30L / 40L
The TSC Alpha-30L and Alpha-40L are rugged mobile label printers that the user carries on a belt clip or shoulder strap. The Alpha-30L prints labels and receipts up to 72 mm wide and the Alpha-40L up to 104 mm wide, both by direct thermal at 203 dpi. They suit delivery staff, warehouse pickers, retail shelf labelling and field service teams who need a label printed where the work is done.
Both models connect to phones and mobile computers over MFi Bluetooth 5.0 with NFC tap-to-pair, or over dual-band Wi-Fi with Bluetooth, and print ZPL, EPL and CPCL through TSC's TSPL-EZC emulation. They are IP54 rated and tested for 1.8 m drops. The Alpha-40L carries a 6200 mAh battery against 3030 mAh on the Alpha-30L. The Alpha-30R on our site is TSC's lighter 3-inch model aimed at receipts and simple labels.

What is the difference between the Alpha-30L and the Alpha-40L?
The Alpha-30L is the 3-inch model, printing up to 72 mm wide on media 25.4 mm to 80 mm wide. The Alpha-40L is the 4-inch model, printing up to 104 mm wide on media up to 112 mm, with a larger 6200 mAh battery. It weighs 985 g against 745 g for the Alpha-30L.
Will the Alpha-30L/40L print from our Android handhelds and existing Zebra label formats?
Yes. It pairs over Bluetooth or connects over Wi-Fi to Android and iOS devices, and TSC's TSPL-EZC firmware accepts EPL2, ZPL2 and CPCL commands, so most existing label formats can be used. ESC-POS firmware is available for receipt printing.
Can the Alpha-30L/40L print on linerless labels?
Yes. Both models can print die cut, black mark, receipt, fan-fold, continuous and linerless media. Linerless printing needs the factory-fitted linerless kit, so mention it when you ask for a quote.
Do these printers use ribbons?
No. The Alpha-30L and Alpha-40L are direct thermal only, so they print on direct thermal labels and receipt paper without a ribbon. We can supply direct thermal labels to suit your label size.
Who replaces the printhead or platen roller on an Alpha printer?
TSC does not treat these as user-replaceable parts on the Alpha-30L/40L. We handle repair and service including printhead and platen roller replacement, along with AMC and PAN India support.
