About the MC27
The MC27ex-NI is a BARTEC mobile computer for hazardous areas, developed with Zebra Technologies. It is approved for ATEX/IECEx/UKEX Zone 2/22 and NEC Class I, II, III Division 2, not Zone 1. It runs Android 14, has a 4-inch touch display with a 34-key numeric keypad and a Zebra SE4100 1D/2D imager, and suits warehouses, manufacturing plants, ports and yards with Zone 2 areas.
It connects over 802.11ac Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 5.0, and the keypad plus touchscreen supports both older green-screen apps and newer touch apps. A scan handle accessory turns it into a gun-style device for heavy scanning. The battery can be swapped, but only outside the hazardous area. For Zone 1/21 areas, look at a Zone 1 certified device such as the Pixavi Phone.

Is the MC27ex-NI approved for Zone 1?
No. BARTEC's datasheet approves it for ATEX/IECEx/UKEX Zone 2/22 and NEC Class I, II, III Division 2. For Zone 1/21 areas you need a Zone 1 certified device.
Can the battery be changed inside the hazardous area?
No. BARTEC states that the battery must only be changed and charged outside the potentially explosive atmosphere.
Can we use normal Zebra accessories with it?
No. BARTEC states that only original BARTEC accessories may be used with the MC27ex-NI.
Does it run our Android apps?
Yes. It runs Android 14 with Google Mobile Services and includes Zebra Mobility DNA tools, so scanned data can be sent to your Android apps. We can help set it up with your software.
Do you provide service support for ATEX devices?
Yes. We supply the device, set it up with your software and provide repair and service and AMC, with PAN India support.
