About the Zebra ZXP Series 7
The Zebra ZXP Series 7 is a direct-to-card ID card printer for higher volumes. It prints full colour or monochrome at 300 dpi on one or both sides of CR-80 cards, with a 250-card feeder and a 100-card output hopper. It suits colleges, hospitals, large employers and government offices that issue ID and access cards in batches, and card bureaus that need laminated cards.
It can print, encode and laminate at the same time. Options include a single- or dual-sided laminator and encoders for magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart cards and UHF RFID cards. USB 2.0 and Ethernet come standard. It is faster than the ZXP Series 3 on our site, and the ZXP Series 9 prints by retransfer instead. Zebra no longer sells the ZXP Series 7 and names the ZC300 Series as its replacement.

What is the difference between the ZXP Series 7 and ZXP Series 3?
The ZXP Series 7 prints up to 300 single-sided colour cards an hour against 195 on the ZXP Series 3, holds 250 cards in the feeder against 100, and adds optional lamination and UHF RFID encoding. The ZXP Series 3 is a compact printer for lower volumes.
Why laminate ID cards?
Zebra offers lamination on the ZXP Series 7 to add security to cards and extend the life of the printed image. It laminates one or both sides in one pass on 30 mil cards, using Zebra True Secure i Series laminates.
Can it encode smart cards and RFID cards?
Yes, with options. Zebra offers a magnetic stripe encoder, a combined MIFARE contactless and ISO 7816 contact encoder, and an EPC Gen 2 UHF RFID encoder.
Is the ZXP Series 7 still available?
Zebra no longer sells the ZXP Series 7 and names the ZC300 Series as its replacement. Zebra lists service and support for it until December 2030, and we continue to repair and service existing printers under AMC.
Will it work with our ID card software?
It has Microsoft-certified Windows drivers and works with Zebra CardStudio, and developers can use Zebra's ZMotif SDK. We can set it up with your card software during installation.
