About the Honeywell PC42t
The Honeywell PC42t is a compact 4-inch thermal transfer desktop printer with 203 dpi resolution, made for light-duty labelling. It takes media from 25.4 mm to 110 mm wide and label rolls up to 127 mm in diameter, and prints at 4 ips by default. It suits small and medium businesses printing product, price and shipping labels, and offices moving from laser or inkjet sheets to thermal labels.
The 25.4 mm core version takes ribbons up to 300 m long, so ribbons can be shared with larger printers. It auto-detects ZPL II and EPL emulation, DPL and Direct Protocol. USB and USB host are standard, with Ethernet and serial as factory options. The PC43t on this site adds a 300 dpi option, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options and twice the memory. Honeywell has discontinued the PC42t.

What is the difference between the PC42t and the PC43t?
The PC42t is 203 dpi only, has 64 MB Flash and 64 MB RAM and offers Ethernet or serial as factory options. The PC43t comes in 203 or 300 dpi, has 128 MB of each and offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options.
Does the PC42t work with BarTender and our ERP?
Honeywell lists BarTender as a supported application and provides the InterDriver Windows printer driver. It also emulates ZPL II and EPL, which many ERP systems already send, and we test your label formats during setup.
Is the PC42t still available from Honeywell?
Honeywell lists the PC42t Plus as discontinued from 29 September 2023, with service and support until 31 December 2028. We continue to repair and service existing PC42t printers; for new printers, ask us for a quote on a current Honeywell desktop model.
Which ribbons fit the PC42t?
It takes ribbons 30 mm to 110 mm wide with the ink on the outside, on 12.7 mm or 25.4 mm cores depending on the model. We supply wax, wax-resin and resin ribbons with paper and polyester labels to suit.
Do you repair the PC42t?
Yes. We repair and service PC42t printers, including printhead and platen roller replacement, and offer AMC with PAN India support.
