Automated ribbon saving is provided on print head 1. The print head is lifted and the ribbon is stopped during material feed. Opening or closing the print head may result in stress marks on wax ribbons.

About the Cab XC Q6
The cab XC Q6 is a thermal transfer label printer with two print heads, so it prints labels in two colours in one operation. cab lists the 6-inch model as the XC Q6.3, with 300 dpi resolution, a print width of up to 162.6 mm and speeds up to 150 mm/s. It suits chemical and industrial users who need two-colour warning labels such as GHS labels, or a second colour to highlight key text.
Heating can be set separately for each print head. When only the second head is needed, the first head lifts by menu control, and head 1 saves ribbon by lifting and stopping the ribbon during material feed. It takes labels 46 mm to 176 mm wide and connects over USB, Ethernet and RS-232, with a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen. cab also makes the narrower XC Q4, with a 105.7 mm print width.

How does the XC Q6 print two colours?
It has two print heads, each with its own ribbon, so both colours are printed in one operation. Heating is set separately for each head, and head 1 can be lifted when only head 2 is needed.
Can it print GHS labels?
Yes. cab names GHS warning labels as a typical two-colour application. Labels can be designed in cab's cablabel S3 software, and cab states the printer also runs with CODESOFT, Loftware Spectrum, NiceLabel and BarTender.
Will it work with SAP or our ERP?
cab supports printing from SAP with SAPscript, SmartForms and Adobe Interactive Forms, and provides Windows, Mac and Linux drivers. It can also accept ZPL II data, which cab advises testing in advance. We can set it up with your software during installation.
What is the difference between the XC Q6 and the XC Q4?
Both print two colours at 300 dpi and up to 150 mm/s. The XC Q6.3 prints up to 162.6 mm wide on labels 46 mm to 176 mm wide, while the XC Q4 prints up to 105.7 mm wide on labels 20 mm to 116 mm wide.
Do you supply labels and ribbons for the XC Q6?
Yes. We supply paper and polyester labels and wax, wax-resin and resin ribbons. The XC Q6 uses two ribbons, one per head, and cab advises a ribbon at least as wide as the label liner.
