About the FX7500 Fixed RFID Reader
The Zebra FX7500 is a fixed UHF RFID reader. It is mounted at a read point, such as a doorway, conveyor or storeroom entrance, and external antennas are cabled to it to read tags as goods pass. It comes as the FX7500-2 with two antenna ports and the FX7500-4 with four, and reads EPC Class 1 Gen 2 tags. It suits warehouses, distribution centres, retail stores, manufacturing and transport sites.
It can be powered over Ethernet (PoE or PoE+) or from a 24V DC supply, so it can be placed where there is no power outlet, and it is plenum rated for installation in walls and ceilings. Zebra rates it at more than 1,200 tags per second in FM0 mode. It runs Linux, supports LLRP and can host third-party applications. It pairs with the AN480 antenna on our site; for handheld reading, see the RFD40 or TC22R.

What is the difference between the FX7500-2 and FX7500-4?
The number of antenna ports. The FX7500-2 connects up to two antennas and the FX7500-4 up to four, both through reverse polarity TNC connectors. Choose by how many antennas the read point needs.
Does the FX7500 need a power point at the read point?
No. It can be powered over the Ethernet cable with PoE or PoE+, or from a 24V DC supply. Zebra notes the transmit power reaches +31.5 dBm on PoE+ or external DC and +30.0 dBm on standard PoE.
How does the FX7500 connect to our software?
It uses the LLRP host interface and Zebra provides .NET, C and Java APIs for host applications, plus C and Java SDKs for applications that run on the reader itself. We set it up with your software during installation.
Can the reader work with sensors and indicator lights?
Yes. It has two optically isolated inputs and three outputs, which are used to connect devices such as sensors that start a read and lights that signal the result.
Do you install fixed RFID readers?
Yes. We handle installation and integration with your software, AMC and repair and service, with PAN India support.
