About the AN480 RFID Antenna
The Zebra AN480 is a single-port, wide-band UHF RFID antenna for use with fixed RFID readers. It covers 865 to 956 MHz, so the same antenna can be used in different regions, and it is available with left-hand or right-hand circular polarisation. Zebra positions it for manufacturing and warehouse floors, dock door receiving, point of sale, control points and hallways.
Zebra notes that the AN480 has a low axial ratio of 1.5 dB, which gives a more uniform gain. It has an aluminium body with a white plastic cover, IP54 sealing and a rear N-type female connector, and it uses Zebra's standard mounting bracket, so it can replace an existing Zebra antenna. On this site it pairs with the FX7500 fixed RFID reader.

Which reader does the AN480 connect to?
It is a passive antenna for fixed UHF RFID readers such as the Zebra FX7500. Zebra tests its antennas with its fixed reader range. An RF cable connects the antenna's N-type connector to the reader port.
Should we choose left-hand or right-hand circular polarisation?
The AN480 is available in both left-hand and right-hand circular versions. Tell us about your read point and the other antennas already installed, and we will suggest the version to order.
Can the AN480 be used outdoors?
It is sealed to IP54 and rated from -25°C to +70°C. For areas exposed to heavy rain or washdown, ask us about an antenna with a higher IP rating.
How many antennas do we need for a dock door?
It depends on the door size, tag type and how goods move through. We can survey the site and suggest the number of antennas and their mounting positions.
