About the Newland MT65
The Newland MT65 Beluga IV is an Android mobile computer with a 4 inch touchscreen, a 30-key keypad and a built-in megapixel 2D barcode imager. It suits warehousing, distribution, transport and field service users who want a compact keypad device for scanning and entering quantities. The scan engine is set at an angle, so the screen and keypad stay visible when scanning codes above shoulder height.
It runs Android 8.1 on a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, and supports 4G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC. It is sealed to IP65 and rated for 1.2 m drops to concrete, and the removable 3800 mAh battery is rated for about 10 hours. For heavier use, the Newland N7 on this site has a 1.8 m drop rating and a larger hot-swappable battery.

Is the MT65 Beluga IV still available from Newland?
Newland lists the MT65 Beluga IV as discontinued from 23 May 2022 and recommends the MT93 Megattera Standard Plus as the alternative. Contact us for service of existing MT65 devices or advice on a current model.
What is the difference between the MT65 and the N7?
The MT65 is a compact keypad device with a 30-key keypad and a 1.2 m drop rating. The N7 Cachalot Pro offers 29, 38 or 47-key keypads, 4 GB RAM, a 1.8 m drop rating and a hot-swappable 5100 mAh battery.
Can the MT65 run our Android app?
Yes. It runs Android 8.1 with Google Mobile Services, so Android apps and browser-based systems can run on it. Newland also lists StayLinked and Ivanti Velocity as compatible terminal emulation.
What if the battery runs out during a long shift?
The 3800 mAh battery is removable, and the charging cradle has an extra battery slot, so a charged spare can be kept ready.
