About the Zebra DS3608-SR/DS3678-SR Ultra-Rugged Scanner

The Zebra DS3608-SR and DS3678-SR are ultra-rugged handheld 1D/2D area imagers for warehouses and factories. The DS3608-SR is corded and the DS3678-SR is the cordless Bluetooth version with a charging cradle. SR stands for standard range: they read barcodes from near contact to about 1.5 m away, including dirty, damaged or poorly printed labels and labels under shrink wrap. They suit receiving, picking, dispatch and production line scanning.

This is the all-round model of the three Zebra ultra-rugged pairs on this site. The LI3608-ER/LI3678-ER reads only 1D codes but reaches labels high up the racks, and the DS3608-DP/DS3678-DP reads codes marked directly on parts. The SR version also reads Digimarc codes and can capture up to 20 barcodes with one trigger press. Honeywell's ultra-rugged standard range scanners on this site are the Granit 1990iSR (corded) and 1991iSR (cordless).

Best For

  • Warehouse receiving, picking and dispatch
  • Production lines scanning 1D and 2D labels

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Zebra DS3608-SR/DS3678-SR Ultra-Rugged Scanner.

Ask Us a Question

What is the difference between the DS3608-SR and DS3678-SR?

They share the same imager and housing. The DS3608-SR is corded and weighs 305 g. The DS3678-SR is cordless, weighs 407 g and connects to its cradle over Bluetooth.

Which one do we need: SR, ER or DP?

SR suits most warehouses and factories scanning printed 1D and 2D labels up to about 1.5 m away. ER (LI3608-ER) is for 1D labels far up the racks. DP is for codes etched or dot peened directly onto parts.

Can one cradle be moved between workstations?

Yes. Zebra's AutoConfig stores the scanner settings in the cradle, so pairing a DS3678-SR with a different cradle sets it up for that workstation's application.

Will it work with our WMS or ERP?

It connects over USB, RS232 or Keyboard Wedge, so scanned data goes into the selected field of most WMS and ERP screens. We handle the setup with your software.

Do you provide AMC for ultra-rugged scanners?

Yes. We provide AMC and repair and service for Zebra scanners, with PAN India support. Send us your quantity for a quote.
