About the Newland NVH300HD/DP

The Newland NVH300 Angler is a corded industrial handheld 2D scanner with a 1280 x 960 megapixel sensor and a laser aimer. Newland made two versions. The NVH300 Angler HD reads high-density printed 1D and 2D codes, including PDF417, QR Code, Data Matrix and Aztec. The NVH300 Angler DP reads direct part marks, such as laser-marked and dot peened codes on surgical instruments, engineering parts and printed circuit boards.

The HD version lights the code with a white direct LED and a ring of red diffuse LEDs. The DP version adds a ring of blue LEDs and cycles through its three colours and angles until a code reads, then remembers that setting. Both withstand 1.8 m drops and are set up with Newland's NSet software. The DP version is sealed to IP64 and the HD version to IP42. For printed labels in general use, the Newland HR32 on this site is the simpler choice.

Best For

  • Dot peened and laser-marked codes on metal parts (DP)
  • Small, high-density printed codes (HD)
  • Surgical instrument tracking
  • Electronics and engineering production lines

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Newland NVH300HD/DP.

Ask Us a Question

What is the difference between the NVH300 HD and DP?

The HD version reads printed high-density 1D and 2D codes, including PDF417 and Aztec. The DP version is built for direct part marks, with an extra blue LED ring and IP64 sealing, and reads QR Code and Data Matrix among 2D codes.

Is the NVH300 Angler still available?

Newland's EMEA website lists the NVH300 Angler HD as discontinued from 15 October 2024 and the DP from 18 May 2026, with the NVH220 Lophius as the recommended alternative. Newland lists service and support for existing units until 2029 (HD) and 2031 (DP).

Will it work with our MES or ERP software?

It connects over USB or RS-232 and is configured with Newland's NSet software. We handle the setup with your MES, ERP or traceability software.

Do you repair NVH300 scanners?
