About the Honeywell Genesis XP 7680g
The Honeywell Genesis XP 7680g is a corded hands-free presentation scanner with a 1 megapixel area imager. It stands on the counter on a compact, removable stand and reads 1D and 2D barcodes, PDF417, DotCode and Digimarc codes, on printed labels or on a customer's phone. Honeywell designed it for retail and healthcare counters, and its housing is disinfectant-ready, so it suits pharmacies, clinics and billing counters that are cleaned often.
Honeywell rates it 20% faster than the previous Genesis model, with a motion tolerance of 400 cm/s for 13 mil UPC. A 360° tri-colour LED ring shows the scan area, and the white illumination switches off between scans. The scan module can also be wall mounted, POS mounted or fitted facing downwards, or built into a kiosk. Unlike the Honeywell MK7120 (Orbit 7120) laser scanner on this site, it reads QR codes and other 2D codes.

Can the Genesis XP 7680g read QR codes from a phone?
Yes. It is a 2D area imager and Honeywell designed it to read both printed and digital barcodes, including QR codes shown on a phone screen.
We use the older Genesis 7580g. Can we reuse the cables?
Yes. Honeywell states that the Genesis XP 7680g is backwards compatible with legacy Genesis 7580g cables, and the scan module alone can be ordered for field upgrades.
Should we choose the Genesis XP 7680g or the MK7120?
The MK7120 (Orbit 7120) is a laser scanner that reads 1D barcodes only. Choose the Genesis XP 7680g if you need to scan QR codes, 2D codes or codes on phone screens.
Can the 7680g be mounted inside a kiosk?
Yes. Honeywell offers the scan module without the stand for kiosk integration, with a rear cable attachment and wall, POS and downward-facing mounting accessories.
Do you install and service the Genesis XP 7680g?
Yes. We supply it, set it up with your billing or hospital software and provide AMC and repair and service, with PAN India support.
