About the Honeywell 1952g Xenon
The Honeywell Xenon 1952g is a cordless handheld 1D/2D area-imaging scanner that connects over Bluetooth. Honeywell built it for retail checkouts, and it reads printed barcodes on merchandise as well as digital codes shown on customer smartphones. It suits supermarkets, pharmacies and retail stores where a cable gets in the way around the POS terminal. Honeywell's current version is sold as the Xenon XP 1952g.
It is offered in standard range (SR), high density (HD) and ultra high density (UD) versions, and the UD model is built for reading very small barcodes. Honeywell rates the 2400 mAh battery at up to 65,000 scans per charge, and the scanner is sealed to IP52. For warehouses and factories where scanners are dropped hard, the Granit 1991iSR is Honeywell's ultra-rugged cordless option on this site.

Can the Xenon 1952g scan QR codes from a phone?
Yes. Honeywell optimised it for scanning digital codes off customer smartphones as well as printed barcodes on merchandise.
What is the difference between the SR, HD and UD versions?
SR (standard range) suits normal retail barcodes. HD (high density) and UD (ultra high density) read smaller codes, and the UD is built for very small barcodes, read at shorter distances.
Should we choose the Xenon 1952g or the Granit 1991iSR?
The Xenon 1952g is designed for retail counters and is rated for 1.8 m drops with IP52 sealing. The Granit 1991iSR is an ultra-rugged scanner rated for 3 m drops and IP67 sealing, meant for warehouses and industrial sites.
Will the 1952g work with our billing software?
Its base connects over USB, Keyboard Wedge, RS-232 or IBM 46xx, so the scanned code is entered into the selected field of most billing and POS software. We handle the setup with your software.
