About the DS9308 Omni Directional
The Zebra DS9308 is a compact corded presentation scanner from the DS9300 Series. It sits on the counter and reads 1D and 2D barcodes hands-free, including QR codes on paper or on a customer's phone. It suits convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, ticket and boarding pass counters and shops with little counter space. With the optional multi-mount bracket, staff can also lift it for handheld scanning.
It has a 52° x 33° field of view and a swipe speed of up to 305 cm per second for 13 mil UPC, so items can be passed across it quickly. It is rated IP52 and for drops from 1.5 m, and it can capture A6 or smaller documents as images. Unlike the handheld DS2208 or DS4608, it is built mainly for counter use, with a base that tilts from 15° back to 45° forward.

Can the DS9308 be used as a handheld scanner?
Yes. With the multi-mount bracket it can be lifted off the counter for handheld scanning. The locking-mount bracket keeps it fixed for customer-facing points such as self-checkout.
Can the DS9308 read QR codes and tickets on a phone?
Yes. It reads 1D and 2D codes printed on a label or displayed on a phone, and Zebra lists paper and mobile tickets and boarding passes among its uses.
How is the DS9308 different from the DS2208?
The DS2208 is a handheld scanner that can be placed in a stand. The DS9308 is a presentation scanner designed to stand on the counter, with a wider field of view and faster swipe speed for passing items across it.
We use the older DS9208. Can we reuse its cables?
Yes. Zebra states that the DS9300 Series is backwards compatible with DS9208 cables and power supplies.
Do you install and service the DS9308?
Yes. We supply the DS9308, set it up with your billing software and provide AMC and repair and service, with PAN India support.
